Adam Pearson has taken on the role of church secretary and he spoke about the path that God had led them on to set a minister after 47 years without one. Adam spoke of his grandfather Arthur and his work over many years for the church. God’s hand has guided them so faithfully. Rev Dr John Claydon inducted Paul and the Rowley church deacons laid hands on Paul and prayed for him.
Reverend Sam Boyd preached on Romans chapter 8 verses 28-39 “More Than Conquerors”. Mrs Joyce Shaw played for all of the hymns (great singing from a good congregation) and then performed a lovely solo. A representative from each of the various churches present stood and gave a welcome to Paul who at the end of the serice pronounced a blessing and said a grace before the bountiful tea that had been laid on.
Such fellowship and friendship surrounded us all with such love.
Paul will be the guest speaker at our anniversary service on September 15th.
