We have been without a minister for 18 months since the Reverend Gary Collier left to take up a new post in Wales. During that time we have been seeking The Lord’s will with regards to the leadership of our community and after much prayer and consideration felt it right to call the Reverend David Etherington as our Minister. David also felt this was the right move and accepted the call. It is therefore with great joy that we welcome him as our minister and look forward to a long, happy, and fruitful, time together. Appointed from 8th October Reverend Etherington’s induction and ordination will take place at Blackhill Baptist Church on Saturday 23rd November, starting at 3pm. Praise God. Amen.
Rev. Dave Etherington (in his own words)
Dave is in his 30’s, is a Dad to two teenage daughters and is married to Cat who led Dave to Jesus back in 2011. Originally from the South Dave was not raised within a Christian family and would have previously described himself as an atheist, but after finding freedom from problems with addiction, he started upon a journey of seeking God, which has led him to become a Baptist minister. Dave is passionate that the church becomes a spiritual home for all people, where welcome, rest, belonging, purpose and food for the belly and soul can be found.
